Symbolism
A Rose of My Own A Simple Perfect Rosebud |
![]() The fence in the play symbolizes many things as well. It shows the barrier that Troy Maxson had between each character throughout the play to keep them away from him. The fence also shows the line of demarcation that he drew between himself and his immediate family when he impregnated his mistress Alberta. Such line brought about many complications in the family which separated the family, as well as bring nothing but pain and loss of respect. Last but not least the fence also symbolizes the gate that rose had them built to protect not only herself but her family. She truly cherished her family and didn't want nothing to interfere in the home in which she was trying to build. Unfortunately every fence has a door in which people can come in and out from, so eventually the fence was rendered useless being that it couldn't keep unhappiness out of her house and family. ![]() |
