Troy Maxson strongly opposed Cory his son to play football. He felt as though that he would get hurt at the end just like himself. He cared so much about Cory, that he tried by every means to protect him from what he thought would harm him.

Troy Maxson always said that "Death is like a fast ball, "you have one more chance then you are gonna strike out.", and "I've wrestled with the devil..". He continually compares his life to baseball, with the velocity and speed at which it goes for him.

Troy was looked at with many flaws and mistakes but what readers tend to surpass is what he went through as an individual. Troy never meant to hurt anyone, but once his ego was built and his mind was made there was no changing a hurt and sad man who couldn't achieve his dream. He was truly the center piece in his family he lacked the ability to show affection and love to his family who loved him.

Troy Maxson and Jim Bono spent most of their conversations on the  porch outside. Having a drink and sharing laughters like friends should always do.

Noticing that all of the conversations were held outside, I became curious. I then finalized that they felt more comfortable having their conversations outside, being they were free to express themselves. As well as there being no secret to be kept from the open.

Rose Maxson was the one who instructed Troy and Cory to build the fence. I believe the whole purpose for her to build it was to keep her family together. As a fence is being built it is held together by another plank, showing unity and love that Rose was trying to instill in her family. Eventually as the story unfolds the fence has many reasons to different characters. Jim Bono finalized that Rose loves her family and she doesn't want the only good things she have to leave. Where as Troy's purpose is to keep everyone out and away from him, which brings nothing but problem to family.
